Fluent in 96 languages and offering global packaging solutions.

Irish company, the Perigord Group has recently expanded its capability to produce localised artwork from 80 to 96 languages and can now offer truly global packaging solutions to companies.

Dublin, Ireland, February 9th, 2011.
Chances are if you pick up a box of software almost anywhere in the world it’s been through the hands of an Irish company, The Perigord Group. From it’s base in Dublin, the company has been working with many of the world's major software developers and global packaging producers, delivering their products in 96 languages, globally.

Perigord provide a fully project managed service which can broadly be divided into two phases, the first phase, internationalisation, encompasses the planning and preparation stages for a product that is built by design to support global markets. Country or language-specific content is stored so that it can be easily adapted at a later stage.

The second phase, localisation, refers to the actual adaptation of the product for a specific market. Perigord have developed a team of localisation experts which work together to provide a turnkey quality service, from the design and creation of a core language version to creating as many language versions as a customer requires. On completion of each phase, testing, including quality assurance, is performed to ensure that the product works properly and meets the client's quality expectations.

Founded in 1976, the group's heritage lies in the print industry, today however, services delivered using technology account for in excess of 70% of the group's revenues. For example the firm’s GLAMS or Global Artwork Management System is now being used across four continents, in a total of 26 countries. GLAMS, is a web-based artwork management system that was developed to control and manage artwork from concept through to printing. It places total control over artwork in the customer’s hands, enabling better management of costs and accelerating the customer’s time to market.

The product creates a central online storage area that accepts all files using recognised industry standards to provide a single point of proof. GLAMS allows all involved parties to participate directly in the print production process and to generate artwork in a unified tracked and managed flow.

Ireland currently has its economic challenges but its export performance has become the envy of many, recording 6% growth in the last year together with a large and growing trade surplus. Ireland’s technology industry has been credited with much of this success.

‘Economic conditions in Ireland have been challenging but the fact that we have a global customer base has stood to us in recent times’, says Alan Leamy, C.E.O of the Perigord Group.

Perigord is an Enterprise Ireland client company, the government organisation responsible for the development and growth of Irish enterprises in world markets. Enterprise Ireland works in partnership with Irish enterprises to help them start, grow, innovate and win export sales on global markets.

‘We invested heavily in research and development in recent times and worked closely with Enterprise Ireland. The agency has helped us identify and successfully infiltrate potential markets. We see our software products as the key to continued growth,’ Leamy said.
